Frequently Asked Questions
General
1. What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy uses proven techniques to help restore movement and function to anyone affected by an injury, disability or health condition. It is therapy that can help you achieve movement and reduce pain. We will use our in-depth knowledge of how the body works, combined with hands-on skills and advance techniques together with evidence-based care, to assess, diagnose and treat your symptoms. Physiotherapy can also help you prevent injuries and improve health conditions by repairing damage, reducing stiffness and pain, increasing mobility and improving your quality of life.
2. Who can benefit from Physiotherapy?
At PhysioX, we pride ourselves to managing musculoskeletal injuries. This would include pains arising from muscules, joints or nerves.
You might experience neck pains accompanied with headaches, shoulder pains or elbow pains, hip or low back pains, knee injuries and foot and ankle issues.
Your Physiotherapist will be able to ascertain the cause and source of the pain and address them appropriately, accurately and effectively.
3. How does the Physiotherapist ascertain my problem?
At PhysioX, we pride ourselves to managing musculoskeletal injuries. This would include pains arising from muscules, joints or nerves.
You will be asked about the pain, the nature of it, the onset, what aggravates or eases the pain.
Thereafter, a thorough physical examination will follow that will corroborate your history as your Physiotherapist assesses your movement or strength to confirm or negate their hypothesis.
Armed with the necessary information, your Physiotherapist will designed a treatment plan to address the source and cause of your pain and more importantly, help you understand why you’re here and how you can manage it!

Consultations
1. How long is each treatment session?
2. What can I expect at my first Physiotherapy session?
In order to accurately diagnose and get to the root issues of your concerns, your Physiotherapist will take a detailed history to identify the location, nature, behaviour and onset of your symptoms. Through a thorough assessment, your Physiotherapist will be able to then establish the underlying cause(s) of your concern. After which, your physiotherapist will be able to explain, educate and advise on the rehabilitation progress of your condition.
3. Do I need to bring anything for my session?
Be ready to expose the area of your concern or discomfort. If you would like your knee examined, be ready to have your knees exposed. This could mean bringing a pair of shorts to change into. Also, do bring along any questions and concerns you may have! We will be happy to address any questions you have so they matter to us as much as they do to you!
4. How many sessions will I require?
It depends on your diagnosis and the severity of it. You may require months of care or it might simply be one session. At PhysioX, we pride ourselves on being your partner to recovery. We will collaborate with you as we educate, teach and guide you to a full recovery!
